Lolly Land
By Sophie.P
BEEP BEEP BEEP went my alarm clock. I looked at my clock. 7:00am, time to get up. I got my clothes out of my old dusty wardrobe and got dressed. My golden labrador Ruff bounded onto my bed. I pulled the tattered crimson collar over his head. I walked outside expecting to see the sun beaming back at me.
Wait a second it was freezing! Yesterday it had been as hot as an oven! Now it felt like it was snowing! I opened my eyes expecting to see the skyscrapers of New York but I saw something much better instead! A lolly land was staring right back at me! The tree leaves and shrubs were candyfloss, The sidewalk was gingerbread, the bark of trees tempered chocolate and snowflakes were peppermint flavored! I looked to the right and saw a chocolate cake castle! I followed the gingerbread path while drinking in all the scenes around me.
Soon I arrived at the magnificent castle and pushed open the door. It was beautiful, no it was a wonderland! Every piece was so detailed. The chocolate cookies so carefully carved. A very portly lady hobbled out of a chocolate dining room. Her nametag read Queen Charlotte. She had chocolate smeared over her mouth. She shuffled towards me, chocolate dripping out of her mouth.
“Was o ere or?” she mumbled. (Which I think translates to...What are you here for?)
“I need to get back to my house… I need to go home!” I said.”Well, o to da worl ap” she shouted, chocolate spraying everywhere. (I think that translates to “Well go to the world map”).She pointed to a gleaming Magenta door and I went over and pushed the door open…
WOW! Inside was a map of Lolly land. On top of the map was printed LOLLY LAND. There was a entrance (Which is where I came in). A path towards the chocolate cake castle, a toffee apple orchard, a village and finally a chocolate waterfall. Next to the waterfall was an EXIT. I knew what I had to do.
I went back to the main floor and found the queen. She gave me a huge travel pack filled with food and clothes. There was also a pair of hiking boots that would probably come in handy. Surprisingly there were dog treats in the bag and Ruff loved them. We went back to check on the map. We found a path that lead to the chocolate waterfall and copied it down on a piece of parchment. We were ready to go!
I followed my map, making sure we were going the right way. Later in the day the sun started to go down so we set up camp under a toffee apple tree. The next day I woke up with my face all sticky.
”Ruff” I shouted furiously.
But Ruff was asleep. I looked up and saw sticky toffee dripping down onto my face. Luckily there was a lemonade stream flowing near our campsite. I washed my face and made Ruff jump in, just in case.
That day we covered a lot of ground. We passed the toffee apple trees which we made sure we were very far away from. Next was the Fizzy Volcano which was luckily not going to erupt today! Then we crossed farmlands which had candyfloss sheep and gumball cows. Finally we reached the Chocolate river.
According to the queen we had to follow the chocolate river to the waterfall and then climb to the top. She said we would know what to do up at the top. So that was what we did, we followed the river until we came to the waterfall.
It was stunning and amazing. I was speechless! I stomped on a rock and out came a yellow substance. It was a pineapple rock. I looked at the waterfall, On the side of the waterfall was a climbing wall. Next to it read, ‘Climb me!’ So I climbed up along with Ruff!
We got to the top of the waterfall and looked out at lolly land. It was sensational! I could see everything. But I needed to go home to see my family. But how do I get out of Lolly land? Suddenly it hit me. I got Ruff by my side and jumped into the waterfall where I could feel myself getting hotter and hotter. Without warning I landed right in the middle of my bedroom with Ruff by my side. I felt a lump in my pocket and pulled out a sticky toffee apple. Grinning I threw it in the rubbish.
The End
It was a very entertaining story!
